Welcome to the Board Certified Pediatric Dental office of Gene Kouri, D.D.S., M.S.D., and Morna Staffel, D.D.S. Our dentists are certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. In compliance with the ABPD, both Dr. Kouri and Dr. Staffel “successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care” (American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, 2012).
Dr. Gene Kouri
Gene Kouri, D.D.S., M.S.D., graduated from Baylor University in 1957 and Baylor College of Dentistry in 1961. Dr. Kouri completed his M.S.D. degree at Baylor College of Dentistry and Children’s Medical Center in 1966. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a fellow member in the American College of Dentistry. Dr. Kouri has been in private practice for over 40 years in which he has and continues to provide quality dental care for infants, children, and teens. He’s had the privilege of providing service to second, third and forth generations in the same family.
Dr. Morna Staffel
Morna Staffel, D.D.S., who is a native of Knoxville Tennessee, graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1990 and Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995. Dr. Staffel completed her training and received her certification in pediatric dentistry from UT San Antonio in 1999. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Staffel permanently joined the practice in December of 1999.
Both Dr. Kouri and Dr. Staffel are on staff at Cook Children’s Medical Center which allows them to complete treatment on children who are unable to tolerate dental treatment in the office.
